Bernese Mountain is a firm, washed rind artisan cheese produced from unpasteurized cow’s milk in an on-farm dairy located in St. Mary’s Ontario. Extremely beneficial to your health, the milk contains 100% of its original composition when used for the cheese making process. Its aromatic rind gives the cheese a contrasting texture to the interior paste, which is rich & creamy on the palate with a nice mild tangy flavour.
As a relatively young cheese aged between four to six months, Bernese Mountain tastes excellent in sandwiches or served on a cheese platter as an accompaniment to fruits, charcuterie, and rustic bread.
Due to its mild nature Bernese Mountain pairs equally well with white or red wines.
